Prithvi Shaw has returned to the Mumbai cricket team, having been named in the 28-member probables for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The news comes just weeks after he was dropped from their Ranji Trophy team over fitness and discipline concerns.

The announcement came on Shaw's 25th birthday, marking a major milestone in his cricketing career.

Here are further details.

Shaw's performance and disciplinary issues
Career trajectory

Shaw's last T20 appearance came in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) when he was dropped mid-season by Delhi Capitals.

He then featured for Northamptonshire in the County Championship and One-Day Cup.

Despite a commendable 76 in an Irani Cup match between Mumbai and the Rest of India, his fitness and discipline issues saw him get dropped from two Ranji Trophy matches.
