Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun has taken five wickets in the Ranji Trophy for the first time.

Porvorim: Arjun Tendulkar created a stir by taking five wickets in the Ranji Trophy. This left-handed all-rounder playing for Goa did this feat in the match against Arunachal Pradesh. Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun has taken five wickets in Ranji for the first time. In the match being played at Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground in Porvorim, Arjun took five wickets by giving only 25 runs in nine overs. Due to this, Arunachal's team was all out in 30.3 overs only. Mohit Redkar took three wickets.

Arunachal captain Nabam Abo's decision to bat first after winning the toss proved wrong right from the beginning. In his very first over, Arjun dismissed Nabam Hachang for zero. The batsman was bowled. In the same manner, he sent the other opener Neelam Obi (22) to the pavilion. After this, after dismissing Chinmay Patil (3), Arjun dismissed Jai Bhavsar (0) for a golden duck on the very next ball. Bhavsar was out LBW on Arjun's ball. After this, Arjun celebrated his five-wicket haul by bowling out Moji (0).

In this Ranji season, Arjun Tendulkar has taken 16 wickets in four matches for Goa at an average of 17.75. His economy rate has been 3.08. Arjun is the third most successful bowler for Goa this season. 

Arjun took six wickets for 112 runs in both the innings against Sikkim. He also scored 42 runs in the first innings of that match. After taking two wickets against Mizoram, he was out on zero while batting. This performance of taking five wickets against Arunachal can prove beneficial for him before the IPL auction.
