I took £19 bus from London to Paris - here's why it was worth the 11-hour journey


There are many ways to travel to from the UK, the quickest way being a flight which depending on where you are in the country can take between one hour and to just under two hours. Despite being so close to the city of love, prices can also vary extremely, with flights sometimes setting travellers back hundreds of pounds.
But, if you're eager to take a trip to one of the , then you just might be able to without breaking the bank. This content creator documented his journey to Paris from London and revealed that it cost him just 22.5 euros which is equivalent to just under £19.
user @eethanddixon shared his experience taking a coach from London to Paris and admitted that to his viewers that his "expectations were low."
Starting his journey at Victoria Coach Station, the creator shared that the coach was scheduled to leave at 9:30 in the morning and get to Paris at 8:30pm, yet despite getting to the coach station early, his trip had started with him waiting.
"I arrived at the coach station early but it was delayed and we didn't end up leaving till after 10 am," he says.
The video then shows the coach that was taking the travellers to the loved city and it seems that not many people knew about the bargin as it was visibilly empty with barely any passengers. Ethan also shared that "no one sat in their resevered seats" due to their being so much space.
The holidaymakers were then taken to "fairly quickly", where they went through passport control and the bus which made it to port right on time, drove right on to cross over to Calais.
TikTok viewers then got a peak of the beautiful ferry that even Ethan seemed to be surprised with. He said: "The ferry was a lot nicer than expected. It was spacious, [had] lots of areas to realx and get work done, as well as some good food options."
After the one and a half crossing from Dover to Calais, the coach made its way off the ferry and drove for another hour before stopping off at a motoway services, before hitting the road again.
Ethan and the rest of the passengers managed to get to Paris at the expected time of 8:30pm, "despite setting off from London late" and the final verdict of the trip? Well the creator says it was "pleasant and worth the money paid". In regards to whether he would do it again - "it wouldn't be my first choice", he adds.
The video gained 550,300 views, 29,400 likes and nearly 3000 saves. However, the comments section were mixed with opinions.
One person said: "That coach to paris is HELL. One and one, never again", another went as far as saying they would "rather swim the channel than get a bus/coach from Victoria again."
But some people did seem up for the idea of getting a bus. Someone commented: "Looks like a pleasant trip to do one way. The ferry looked nice. Ferries can be relaxing."
Another added: "Yeah it's a good option when you don't have a lot of money."
