The will operate six times a day, with three trains in each direction, connecting major cities such as Barcelona, Toulouse, Girona, Figueres, Perpignan, and Carcassonne.

The Spanish rail operator, Renfe, is set to launch a new international high-speed AVE service between Barcelona and Toulouse in the second quarter of 2025. The expected travel time between Barcelona and Toulouse is around 3.5 hours, offering a fast and comfortable way for passengers to travel between these two popular cities. The service will operate seasonally from April to mid-September, with the possibility of extending its operations based on demand.

The new Barcelona-Toulouse route will further solidify Renfe's position as a key player in cross-border travel, with plans to eventually link additional Spanish cities, such as Madrid, Zaragoza, Tarragona, and Valencia, to the service.

This new route comes following the success of Renfe's previous international services to Lyon and Marseille in 2023, and increasing demand for high-speed connections between Spain and France.

With this launch, Renfe will expand its network to 11 French cities and restores direct services between Spain, Toulouse, and Carcassonne.

The cost for a ticket on the new route is expected to start from £76.30, offering an eco-friendly and easy way to visit multiple cities across Europe.

Renfe is in the process of obtaining the necessary safety certification from the European Union Railway Agency.

Once granted, the company will begin training staff and preparing for the official launch.
