Telangana cabinet approves draft SC Categorisation Bill

Hyderabad: Telangana cabinet has approved the draft SC Categorisation Bill which will be tabled in the assembly. The decision was taken after the cabinet meeting which was held on Thursday, March 6.

Chief minister A Revanth Reddy has reportedly directed the officials to ensure that the Bill was fool-proof and didn’t end up in legal disputes.

Apart from this Bill, discussion on introducing the BC reservations Bill in the assembly was also being discussed, the decision on which was yet to be announced.

Apart from these, discussion on how to counter Andhra Pradesh’s moves on the sharing of river waters was also being discussed, according to sources.

  • Urban core area- 3 sectors bifurcated. ORR inner side is core Telangana, from there to RRR and 2 km outside buffer zone (Telangana urban, and remaining is rural Telangana). 7 mandals (56 villages) FCDA region. Nagarjun Sagar hwy-Srisailam hwyy- 30,000 acres to be developed. 36 villages in HMDA in the past removed, and transferred to FCDA. 90 posts sanctioned for future city. HMDA limits increased till 2 km 11 distrs- 104 mdals-1355 villages (HMDA limits now). (new 332 revenue villages).
  • 1 crore women crorepatis- Indira Mahila Shakti Mission- approved. 2025 policy. —–all SHGs under one umbrella-SERP/MEPMA have been merged. 60 yrs retirement to 65 years. After 18 yrs members- now 15 yrs membership.
  • Yadagirigutta temple board- Hiondu religious institutions and endowments act amendment done.
  • Telangana Tourism Policy- 2025-30 approved – 27 special tourist destinations (areas development)- 15,000 cr investments being attracted.
  • Miss World in May 2025- arrangements- 140 countries guests-
  • Revenue villages 10,954 villages- revenue officials to be appointed- VRA/VRO dismantled- all eligible will be absorbed.
  • Gandhamalla reservoir capacity- because of 4.2 tmc-1.41 tmc reduction.
  • Pedda Golconda- ESI hospital- 5.15 acres cleared.
  • 2024 paraolympics- winner Deepthi- govt job.
  • New revenue divisions and new mandals- 361 posts sanctioned.
  • Residential institutions 330 finalisations approved.
  • Centre’s delimitations- north/south concept in their mind- debate and fight with the centre. All-party meeting to be held- Bhatti/Jana. As per north seats, as per that prorata south seats should increase.
  • Caste census missing- 3 times given opportunities. 42 draft bill approved. local bodies- 42%. 2017- 37% resolution to be withdrawn. Feb 4 2024- 4 2025 (will bring act)- 31C and other provisions in constituency. Please cooperate.
