CHENNAI: Accusing governor R N Ravi of being a disgrace to the post he holds, DMK MP P Wilson on Monday expressed surprise to see the govt employees at the Raj Bhavan aiding the “illegal acts of Ravi.”

Wilson posted on X: “They should be reminded that their employer is the Tamil Nadu govt and criticism of the Tamil Nadu govt or its policies is a ground for dismissal of a govt servant as per the conduct rules in force.” Wilson is a former additional solicitor general of India.

The DMK MP said the governor’s tendency to constantly confront the state govt and the chief minister and engage in an ideological and political battle with the DMK showed that he was unfit to hold constitutional office. “If he is so keen to be a politician, he should resign and contest elections,” Wilson said.
Wilson said India and Tamil Nadu are like two eyes of the people, both are equally important.

“We do not hurt one to please the other. It is about time you learn that Mr Ravi,” the MP said, accusing the governor of insulting constitutional morality and decorum at every turn.

“Even the Supreme Court has to rap your knuckles to put you in place and ask you to do your job,” he added.
