Five arrested for phone snatching, 15 mobiles seized
Indore: Five mobile thieves were arrested and a total of 15 stolen mobile phones along with a motorcycle worth approximately Rs 3.5 lakh was recovered.
Dwarkapuri police station in-charge Rahul Singh Rajput said that on Saturday, they received a tip-off that two youths were attempting to sell mobile phones at a low price near the water tank in Akash Nagar. Acting on this information, the police apprehended Rahul Bhalse, 20, a resident of Aastha Palace Colony, and Tushar Parmar, 20, a resident of Rishi Nagar. A stolen mobile phone was recovered from them, along with seven other mobile phones and a motorcycle. During interrogation, they confessed to snatching a mobile phone from a person near Ranjit Hanuman Street in Scheme No 71 under the jurisdiction of Dwarkapuri police station.
Rahul was found in possession of four phones, while Tushar had three phones along with the seized motorcycle.
Further investigations led to the arrest of Nanu alias Yashwant, 20, a resident of Vijashree Nagar, Sonu Prajapat, 20, from Panchmurti Nagar, and Raja Dayama, 19, a resident of Hariom Nagar. Seven more stolen mobile phones were seized from them.
