Traffic diversion plan announced for Indore's three-layer bridge construction
Indore: The construction of a three-layer bridge on the bypass has led to a traffic diversion plan for the next phase of development. Vehicles coming from Kanadia Bridge towards the main highway will now descend onto the service road at the demerging point near Panchtara Dhaba and proceed towards Dewas. This service road will remain strictly one-way until the completion of the bridge construction.
Small vehicles travelling from Bicholi or Kanadia Bridge towards Indore city will need to take the service road before Kanadia underpass, navigate through Kanadia Road, and use either Bengali Square or Patel Nagar merging point to turn left towards Khajrana via Pakiza triangle, RE-2, and then reach Star Square and Radisson Square. For heavy vehicles approaching from Radisson Square, the new route will be through Labh Ganga Square and Velvet Tiraha, taking a left turn at Best Price to reach the bypass toll plaza before making a U-turn towards Khandwa, Rau or Mumbai.
Small vehicles coming from Dewas will continue to follow the existing route via DPS Underpass, Hotel TCL and Velvet Tiraha before entering the city through Labh Ganga Square or Advance Academy and proceeding towards Star Square. Vehicles travelling from Radisson Star Square towards Kanadia Underpass must take a U-turn at Velvet Tiraha and proceed via Labh Ganga Square, RE-2 and Pakiza triangle to reach Patel Nagar merging point before heading towards Kanadia Underpass.
Additionally, vehicles travelling from Labh Ganga Square towards Phoenix Mall, Jalsa Garden, Malwa Institute, or Jhalaria village will need to take a left turn at Best Price, cross DPS Overbridge, and either take a left U-turn at the DPS bridge descent or use the median between DPS Bridge and Golden Leaves Bridge. A strict prohibition has been imposed on buses picking up or dropping off passengers between Hotel Sheraton and Patel Nagar merging point. Any violation of this restriction will result in strict action by traffic authorities.
Furthermore, buses entering Indore from Kanadia Bridge will be required to take a left turn at Best Price, pass through Velvet Tiraha and Labh Ganga Square, and reach Star Square. However, interstate buses will not be permitted beyond Star Square towards Radisson Square. Commuters are advised to adhere to the revised routes to avoid inconvenience and cooperate in maintaining smooth traffic flow.
