Vizha showcases rich culture of Coimbatore
Coimbatore: The rich culture of the district was on display on the second day of Coimbatore Vizha. The platform was none other than the ‘Coimbatore Vizha Parade' that was taken out along the Cross Cut Road on Sunday, featuring traditional music and dance performances.
Electricity minister V Senthil Balaji, who also holds the prohibition and excise portfolio, inaugurated the parade. He appreciated the organisers for holding the vizha for 17 years in a row.
District collector Kranthi Kumar Padi said one of the main factors for the vibrant growth of Coimbatore was the contribution of various communities. "Coimbatore is a melting pot of diverse cultures and this parade is a wonderful event to celebrate the diversity."
Traders along Cross Cut Road extended their wholehearted support in organising the vizha parade. Hundreds of people gathered to witness the parade and celebrate Coimbatore's culture.
