Khinvsar set for dead heat as three main candidates locked in tight fight
Jaipur: Khinvsar has turned into a high-stakes political arena, where prominent figures from RLP, BJP, and Congress are clashing with fiery allegations. Though not direct contenders, RLP's Hanuman Beniwal, BJP's Jyoti Mirdha, and Congress's Divya Maderna have fuelled the campaign heat with sharp exchanges and pointed jabs.
In the spotlight, RLP president Hanuman Beniwal's wife, Kanika Beniwal, faces a tough battle against BJP's firebrand Rewat Ram Danga, with Congress's Ratan Choudhary emerging as a significant third player.
Personal accusations have added intensity to the campaign. Jyoti Mirdha claimed Beniwal owed unpaid power bills of Rs 10 lakh, which prompted Beniwal to retaliate by questioning Maderna about her father's involvement in a controversial CD scandal. Maderna shot back, dismissing Beniwal's door-to-door outreach as "desperate vote-chasing."
Amidst these heated exchanges hitting the headlines, ground-level dynamics reveal the real issues of loyalty and promises of development. Kanika Beniwal's campaign banks on her husband's influence as a pro-farmer MP known for opposing the NDA's farm policies, casting him as a staunch Jat leader defending agrarian interests.
On the other side, BJP's Rewat Ram Danga—who narrowly lost to Beniwal in 2023 by a margin of 2,095 votes—capitalises on anti-dynasty sentiments, branding RLP as a family-centric party. "RLP is now a family business, with tickets going to Beniwal's wife and brother. This is a power grab," Danga declared. He also accused Beniwal of endorsing "unruly elements" and shifting alliances for personal gain. Mirdha, actively backing Danga, is leveraging this moment to re-establish her influence in the region after a series of four setbacks—three Lok Sabha polls (2014, 2018, and 2024) and one assembly election in 2023.
