Jaipur: Campaigning for the seven assembly bypolls ended on Monday evening, with CM Bhajan Lal Sharma making a final, decisive appeal to voters in two tribal constituencies—Salumber and Chorasi. Emphasising BJP's commitment to tribal welfare, Sharma warned voters of the tribal region of activities he described as "anti-tribal".

"Certain groups, with the involvement of govt employees, are attempting to brainwash young people from tribal areas. People are sent away, influenced, and then brought back after being brainwashed. Be cautious of those who are part of these activities and sending your children away to these programmes," Sharma cautioned.

Criticising Congress over its treatment of tribal communities in the past, Sharma said, "Our tribal brothers and sisters suffered during the Congress regime with incidents such as the tragic assault on a young girl in Udaipur. We ensured the perpetrator was brought to justice."

Addressing a large gathering in support of the BJP candidate in Salumber, Shanta Meena, the CM said tribal welfare is a core priority of his govt. "Through dedicated schemes and policies, we have continually worked to strengthen the tribal communities. BJP's double-engine governance ensures development for all," he said.

Sharma also spoke of his govt's plans for Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit with a ₹100 crore investment. The project would connect key sites associated with Maharana Pratap's legacy such as Chawand, Haldighati, Gogunda, Kumbhalgarh and Udaipur. The circuit was announced in the state Budget in 2024.

The CM also boasted of his govt's development milestones, including raising the TSP (Tribal Sub-Plan) Fund from ₹1,000 crore to ₹1,500 crore to support tribal empowerment.

With the campaign concluding, restrictions have been imposed on holding any election rallies, roadshows, or meetings. The ban took effect from 6pm on Monday and will remain in place till the close of voting at 6pm on Wednesday.
