Watch: Independent candidate Naresh Meena slapped SDM in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: Naresh Meena, an independent candidate from the Deoli-Uniara constituency, was captured on camera slapping Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Amit Choudhary at the Samravata polling station in Rajasthan on Wednesday.

The incident was recorded on video, showing Naresh Meena entering the polling booth slapping and assaulting the SDM, who was on election duty.

Meena, a former Congress leader, was recently suspended by the party for running as an independent candidate after it selected Kastor Chand Meena over him for the Deoli-Uniara by-election.

The suspension order was issued by Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Congress’s Rajasthan in-charge.

Voting for seven assembly seats across Rajasthan, including Deoli-Uniara, began early today under tight security. A total of 69 candidates are contesting in this high-stakes election, with results expected on November 23.
