Kochi: The Kochi corporation is all set to host the second edition of the national dance festival Bhav 2024 from Nov 29 to Dec 3 at the Town Hall. Higher Education minister R Bindu will inaugurate the festival.

Announcing the decision to host the fest, mayor M Anilkumar said the opening day will commence with an ‘Ishal Sandhya' by Mahakavi Moyinkutty Vaidyar Mappila Kala Academy from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. It will be followed by a Bharatanatyam performance by Asha Sharath. A unique aspect of the second edition is the dance workshops by noted artists.

"The event is held as part of the corporation's initiative to transform the city into a cultural hub. Similar events will be held in the coming months also," said Anilkumar. Prominent artists, including KG Paulose, Kala Vijayan, and Margi Madhu will be honoured at the festival.

Meanwhile, the mayor said that 65% of the biomining work at Brahmapuram has been completed. He said a master plan for the plant is being prepared by Kerala State Waste Management Project (KSWMP). "It will also include the details about internal roads as addressed by the high court. This will be presented in the next council meeting of the corporation," said Anilkumar.
