Ex-AIADMK minister slaps man on stage

Virudhunagar: Former AIADMK minister K T Rajenthra Bhalaji slapped a functionary on the stage during a public meeting here on Wednesday night for jumping the queue.

The AIADMK meeting was organised to commemorate the 77th birth anniversary of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa at Desabandhu Maidanam in Virudhunagar. Rajenthra Bhalaji, who is also AIADMK Virudhunagar West district secretary, and former minister ‘Ma Foi' K Pandiarajan participated in it.

Sources said party functionaries were standing in a long queue to present shawls to Rajenthra Bhalaji. Nandhakumar, of Pandian Nagar, bypassed the queue and attempted to present a shawl to Rajenthra Bhalaji, who lost his cool and slapped him. Other functionaries intervened and made Nandhakumar leave the stage.
