Bokaro admin conducts surprise checks on meat shops for hygiene
Bokaro: Amid increased demand for meat during Holi, the district administration conducted surprise inspections of meat shops on Thursday to ensure compliance with hygiene standards. The initiative covered multiple shops across the city, enforcing departmental and Supreme Court guidelines.
Food safety officer (FSO) Shweta Lakra, acting on deputy commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav's directives, led the inspection team at different locations, including sectors 12, 4, 9, Dundibag Bazaar, Bari-Cooperative, and Ritudih.
"With heightened meat consumption during festivals, maintaining proper hygiene is crucial," said Lakra.
The team instructed traders to maintain cleanliness and follow guidelines on food safety issued by the department and the Supreme Court .
The administration warned shopowners, stating that any violations discovered in future inspections would result in stern action against the operators.
