Second Saturday Holiday for Haryana Schools: The Directorate of Education in Haryana has announced that all government and private schools in the state will now observe a mandatory holiday on the second Saturday of every month.

This directive, which takes effect on November 9, requires schools to remain closed and prohibits the calling of students for any school-related activity on these days.

In an official notice, the Directorate emphasized that strict compliance with this order is expected across all schools. The notice comes in response to reports that some schools have been requiring students to attend non-academic activities on previously designated holidays, including gazetted and local holidays. This new rule reinforces the prohibition against such practices, clarifying that second Saturdays are to be fully observed as holidays.

The Directorate has instructed all District Education Officers to oversee adherence to this directive and ensure that no school violates the guidelines. Any breach of this policy will be referred to higher authorities for departmental action, with the school head and administration held directly responsible for any failure to comply.

This new measure aims to standardize school holidays across the state, ensuring that students receive regular, uninterrupted breaks as per the mandated schedule.
