A vibrant Holi bash is the perfect way to ring in the festival of colours and celebrate with your loved ones. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering at home or a grand celebration, there are a few essential elements that will make your party stand out. From curating the perfect atmosphere to keeping safety in mind, we’ve got everything you need to throw an unforgettable Holi bash that your guests will remember for years to come.

Go for biodegradable & eco-friendly colours. If they are skin-friendly & hypoallergenic, they will be safe for your skin and the environment – Rehan Waris, event planner

Set the stage for Holi
As soon as your guests step in, they should feel immersed in a vibrant Holi atmosphere. “Draped fabrics, painted earthen pots, and beautifully arranged gulaal holders can truly transform the space into a festive wonderland. “Consider a petal shower machine to add a magical touch,” explains Rohit Das, event planner.

What’s a party without snacks?
“Thandai, dahi vadas, and fritters are essential, but don’t forget to serve hearty mains like Kosha Mangsho and rice dishes,” says Rohit. For a more inclusive spread, consider catering to a variety of dietary preferences. Serve low-calorie versions of favourites like samosas, gujiya, and pakoras made in an air fryer. “Serve coconut or almond milk thandai and dairy-free dahi vada for guests with dietary restrictions,” adds Rehan.

Put safety first
While Holi is all about fun, safety should always be a priority when it comes to colours and water. “Ensure the colours you use are organic, skin-friendly and easier to wash off. Also, provide a designated space with water, soap, and shampoo to help guests clean up afterwards,” advises Rehan Waris, event planner. Encourage guests to wear gloves or eyewear. Keep your pets them indoors to avoid harm from colours.

DJ Akash Rohira recommends a mix of Holi classics and trending hits. “Songs like Holi Khele Raghuveera, Balam Pichkari, and Rang Barse are timeless, but have a good mix of old and new hits,” he says. His suggestion? Start with down-tempo hits like Millionaire or Tauba Tauba, then build the energy with Punjabi bangers like Sauda Khara Khara & London Thumkda.
