On Monday evening, a number of young city residents dressed their spooky best and assembled at Nandan to celebrate Halloween. With elaborate costumes and intricate makeup, this year saw ghosts and witches in attendance at the fourth edition of the Halloween costume competition, hosted by an organisation named Spondon.

Participants showcased their creativity and flair, donning an array of imaginative costumes that included not only traditional ghosts and witches but also a variety of other spooky characters. Everyone put their best foot forward in dressing up and displaying their creativity, which reflected the spirit of Halloween among the participants. Speaking about the competition, founder and organiser of the event, Atmajyoti Mitra, said, “This is the fourth year we are hosting this competition. There were 14 participants this time. More people are taking an interest in the competition, and we are planning to host next year’s competition even grander.”
