Nagpur witnessed a grand event as yoga guru and Patanjali Ayurved co-founder Baba Ramdev arrived in Mahin, Nagpur, for the inauguration of the Mega Food and Herbal Park. Accompanying him at the event were senior political figures including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Patanjali’s managing director, Acharya Balkrishna. The event marked a significant step toward strengthening the agro-processing sector in the Vidarbha region.

As part of the inauguration ceremony, Baba Ramdev and Devendra Fadnavis took the opportunity to felicitate the dedicated Patanjali workers who had worked tirelessly over the past months to bring the project to completion.
During his address, Baba Ramdev humbly remarked that his contribution to the nation’s progress was minor in comparison to the work being carried out by Nitin Gadkari. He praised Gadkari’s efforts, stating that the Union Minister had, in his own way, laid the foundation for a fast and developed India. His words reflected deep respect for the infrastructure and developmental work spearheaded by Mr. Gadkari across the country.

Nitin Gadkari then took the stage to address the gathering, emphasising the importance of this new facility for the people and farmers of Vidarbha. He highlighted that both he and Devendra Fadnavis had previously requested Patanjali to contribute toward the upliftment of farmers in the region. With the opening of this Mega Food and Herbal Park, that vision was now a reality.
Gadkari then elaborated on the numerous benefits the plant would bring to farmers, particularly in terms of technological advancements that would aid agricultural development. He expressed his happiness about Patanjali’s plans to buy oranges from farmers at higher prices, which would ensure better financial stability and security for them. This initiative, he noted, would significantly improve the future of Vidarbha’s farming community.

Furthermore, Gadkari assured the audience that Patanjali’s initiatives would introduce modern agricultural practices, including the use of drones and organic fertilizers, which would lead to better yield and sustainable farming. He emphasized that the project would not only enhance agricultural output but also generate employment, thereby improving the overall economy of the region.

Devendra Fadnavis, taking the stage next, congratulated and thanked Baba Ramdev for his continued support of Vidarbha’s development. He acknowledged that the establishment of this processing unit would play an important role in minimizing orange wastage, which has been a longstanding concern for the region’s citrus farmers. Calling oranges a “gem” of Vidarbha, he expressed his confidence that the processing unit would maximize the value extracted from this agricultural resource.

As a mark of goodwill and appreciation, Baba Ramdev concluded the event by presenting all the dignitaries with a unique garland made of oranges. And following the speeches and ceremonial proceedings, the guests were taken on a guided tour of the plant to witness firsthand how the oranges were processed.

With the inauguration of the Mega Food and Herbal Park, a new chapter has begun for the region’s farmers. The collaboration between Patanjali and the government aims to ensure sustainable development, economic upliftment, and a future where agriculture in Vidarbha flourishes like never before.
