Brilliant catcher Kevin Plawecki shocked his fans across the globe after announcing his retirement from the world of Baseball. The 33-year-old athlete represented popular MLB teams including the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets . PLawecki would be joining the minor league team of the San Diego Padres as a coach.

He made his debut in the MLB with the New York Mets back in 2015. Plawecki announced his retirement through a social media post on January 18.

The former Boston Red Sox star hangs his boots on the baseball stadium for the last time. The Illinois native disappointed his fans and followers and poured his heart out via an Instagram post recently. Kevin Plawecki’s post mentioned-

“As I close the chapter on a playing career I’m excited for what the future holds. I still know I have a lot to give this game which has blessed me with so much, I look forward to joining the Padres as a coach in minor league player development this upcoming season.”

He concluded his post with-

“Thank you for all the love and support over the years! The best is yet to come! See y’all at a stadium near you!”


With Plawecki’s retirement, his journey as a Baseball player comes to an end, but his coaching career is on a fresh start. He played for eight seasons in the big leagues and was associated with a few popular MLB teams.
