Play Call of Duty Warzone on your smartphone? Here is an important update from the company
Activision has announced updated minimum specifications for Call of Duty : Warzone Mobile . These new requirements may potentially make the popular battle royale game inaccessible to some players on entry-level and mid-range smartphones. The move comes after widespread complaints about performance issues since the game's launch. Warzone Mobile has also been criticized for being overly demanding, resulting in a subpar experience for many users. These revised requirements aim to address these concerns but may leave some current players unable to continue playing on their existing phones.
What the company said about the update
The company updated the game’s blog with the new minimum requirement. Activision said: “The system requirements for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (WZM) are being updated as part of the introduction of Season 01 and our newest technology. The new WZM minimum specifications require iOS 17 or Android 13 or higher and device hardware with GPUs capable of bindless texturing, effective beginning November 14. Your device will need to meet these minimum specifications to continue receiving updates and access the latest game version for Season 01 and beyond.
Incompatible devices will not be able to update WZM after November 14, 2024. Devices that do not meet the new minimum specifications but have version 3.10 of the game installed before November 14 can, provided the game is not uninstalled after this date, continue to play for a limited time – estimated to be until May 5, 2025, subject to technical feasibility – after which, version 3.10 will be taken permanently offline. Impacted players can still use previously purchased Call of Duty Points until version 3.10 is taken offline or they log in with a compatible device and update to the latest version of the game.
Impacted players can receive make-good rewards in Call of Duty: Mobile by logging in to CODM using the same Call of Duty account used in WZM after November 14.”
The company also made the same announcement on social media platform X (earlier Twitter).

In the X post, Activision wrote: “Thank you for being an integral part of our community as we work to bring you the best mobile gaming experience possible. We’ve been heads down working on the latest shared features like Omnimovement and connected content coming with BO6/WZ S1 and beyond plus exciting QOL updates. With these innovative improvements and meaningful technical advancements coming to mobile, we’re going to be updating our minimum specifications.
The new #WarzoneMobile minimum specifications require iOS 17 or Android 13 or higher on a device with a GPU capable of bindless texturing, effective beginning November 14, 2024. Your device will need to meet these minimum specifications to continue receiving updates and access the latest game version for Season 1 and beyond. For those on devices that don’t meet these new requirements, we know this can seem inconvenient and understand the importance of giving you time to transition.
With that, devices that do not meet the new minimum specifications can continue playing version 3.10 for a limited time (approximately 6 months) provided 3.10 is installed before November 14th. From that point forward, all future app installations and updates will require a device compatible with the min-spec. We’re offering special rewards in Call of Duty: Mobile for players whose device is no longer compatible.
