Grand celebrations at Kapu Marigudi Temple

Kapu: Kapu Mariamma is believed to have the divine power to protect dharma and drive away calamities like pandemics. Renovating sacred shrines like the Kaapu Marigudi Temple not only preserves religion but also brings about the welfare of society, said Sri Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Matha.

Speaking at the religious gathering held as part of the Pratishta Brahmakalashotsava at Sri Hosa Marigudi Temple on Thursday, Swamiji emphasized the significance of such restorations.

Temple renovation leads to village development

Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Odiyoor Guru Dattamandala Matha stated that temple restoration contributes to the spiritual, religious, and overall development of villages.

Former minister and Honorary President of the Temple Development Committee, Vinay Kumar Sorake, who presided over the event, mentioned that the temple has been reconstructed entirely using Ilkal stone with contributions from devotees worldwide. He noted that the newly renovated temple is attracting devotees from far and wide, transforming Kaapu into a significant religious tourism destination.

MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, MLA Umanath Kotian, Prasad G. Shenoy from the Sri Hale Mariyamma Temple, former minister B. Nagaraj Shetty, International Service Committee President Mallaru Shashidhar Shetty (Muscat), Municipal Chief Officer Nagaraj C., Vice President Saritha Shivanand, and Standing Committee Chairman Anil Kumar were among the distinguished guests.

During the event founder of Mumbai Peninsula Groups, Karunakar Shetty, was felicitated.

Other dignitaries present included Development Committee President K. Vasudeva Shetty, Management Committee President Nadikere Ratnakar Shetty, Brahmakalashotsava Committee Chairman Yogish V. Shetty, trustees Shekhar Salyan and Madhav R. Palan.

Kaapu Divakar Shetty, Vice President of the Development Committee, welcomed the gathering. The event was compered by Damodar Sharma and Ashok Pakala.

Special religious ceremonies on February 28

As part of the Pratishta Brahmakalashotsava, a Trikaala Sri Chakreshwari Puja will be conducted at the newly renovated temple on February 28. Other religious rituals such as Bhadrakaali Keshisukta Homa, Prapancha Yaga, Rajamatangi Yaga, Mahalakshmi Prada Chandika Yaga, and Padmavati Padmarchana will also be performed.
