Bird Flu confirmed in chickens at Varadahalli; poultry transport banned

Chikkaballapur: Following the confirmation of bird flu in chickens at Varadahalli village in the taluk, authorities have imposed a ban on poultry transportation within a 1 km radius. As per the directives of the Animal Husbandry Department, a total of 447 chickens in the village were culled and buried.
To prevent further spread, the transportation of chickens from nearby villages has also been restricted. Officials are closely monitoring the situation. District Collector P.N. Ravindra stated that the PDO (Panchayat Development Officer) has been instructed to ensure cleanliness in the village. Additionally, daily control measures and reports are being reviewed by the Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department.
So far, no cases of cough, cold, fever, or other flu-like symptoms have been reported among the villagers. However, various departments, including the Health Department, are working in coordination to monitor the health of each household. Authorities have urged residents not to panic and to follow health department guidelines.
