Kasaragod: Reports of leopard sightings in areas such as Bedakam, Ambalathara, and Karadka over the past few days has triggered panic among the locals. A night curfew has been imposed in the Central University campus at Periye following a leopard sighting as a precautionary measure.

The Forest Department has been alerted about the leopard’s presence, leading to immediate safety measures.

The university campus houses around 2,000 students, and they have been advised to avoid going out at night. Authorities have also instructed students to avoid going near trees and not to feed stray dogs and cats, as they could attract wild animals. Stray animals are to be removed from the campus premises.

Students have been strictly advised against roaming the campus at night. In case of emergencies, they must inform security personnel before stepping out.
