A group of friends from Perdur has been lauded for constructing a house for a family that was struggling with poverty and health issues.

For the past 14 years, the Perdur Friends’ Association has been involved in social service activities, including financial aid to the underprivileged, medical assistance, blood donation drives, health camps, and educational support for students. The group contributes over Rs 2 lakh annually towards these causes.

House to be handed over on March 2

Uday Poojary, a resident of Padigara, had long wished to build his own house but was unable to do so due to financial struggles and health issues. Noticing his plight, members of the Perdur Friends’ Association came together to raise funds and constructed a house at the cost of Rs 5 lakh by pooling money. The house will be officially handed over to him on March 2.
