UDF: Kodakara revelations exposed BJP-CPM nexus
Kozhikode: Opposition leader VD Satheesan said on Friday that BJP's former district office secretary Tirur Satheesh's revelations on Kodakara money laundering has exposed the nexus between CPM and BJP. He said though Kerala Police had clear information about the involvement of BJP state president K Surendran and others in this case, the govt didn't initiate proceedings against them. Satheesh had claimed on Thursday that the unaccounted money involved in Kodakara heist case was part of BJP's election fund.
Satheesan said Kerala Police, despite knowing that black money was involved, chose not to probe its source and destination. "Though the case came under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, state and central govts provided utmost protection to Surendran. Now a matter that central and state govts didn't have any interest was exposed. Our CPM-BJP nexus claim is being proved again and again, be it the ADGP's meeting with RSS leaders or sabotaging Pooram," he added.
Satheesan also said that the police were rampantly registering cases against online media that criticized the state govt. He said that police conducted raids and seized equipment, including computers, alleging attempts to create a riot. Satheesan asked whether Kerala was Stalin's Russia and said what is wrong in criticizing the chief minister in a land where even Gods are criticized.
